Ecover Review & Giveaway...

Like so many people out there I am very concerned about our environment.  I try in any way I can to make the world a better place for my children.  When they grow up I want the Earth to be more than just a big old trash heap!  My desire for a healthier planet for the kiddos always makes me excited when I stumble up a great Eco friendly company like Ecover.

Ecover has this blurb  posted on the first page of their website...

Ecover stands for careful enterprise. This means that we produce our washing and cleaning products in an ecological, economic and socially responsible way in a unique ecological factory. Honest and open, we respect people and the environment. In our view, this is the only way to guarantee a sustainable future.

How can you not support a company whose main goal is a sustainable future??  Ecover graciously sent me over some of their All Purpose Cleaner to try out...they must have heard Baby R had recently started solids and self-feeding!

Right away I liked Ecover's All Purpose Cleaner for the scent.  I am not a big fan of "chemically" smelling products and Ecover, being all natural does not have that yucky odor.  Instead it has the smell of lemons but not overpowering at all.  Now for the real test?  How well does it clean...  I used it on my tiled kitchen floor, concentrating on the area beneath Baby R and it worked like a charm!  No more sweet potato splatter or sticky yogurt drips.   It works...it really works!  Hooray for Ecover! Here are a few more specifics on the All Purpose Cleaner from Ecover's website...

Personal benefits:

effective cleaning with the power of nature

safe for all washable surfaces

fresh fragrance from plant based ingredients

Environmental benefits:

plant based ingredients

quick and complete biodegradability

minimum impact on aquatic life

no animal testing

safe for septic tanks

Instructions for use:
Economical to use. Ideal for cleaning floors, finished woodwork and other sealed hard surfaces. Use 1 to 2 capfuls in half a bucket warm water (about 1.5 gallons). For stubborn stains, use undiluted and wash off with a soft wet cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth for extra shine. 1 capful = 1 fl. oz.

Buy it here!

Win it here on Reviewed By Mom!  Ecover has graciously offered one Reviewed By Mom reader a bottle of their All Purpose Cleaner!  Your house too can smell faintly of lemons instead of yucky chemicals!  Here is how to win...

I learned that sustainability is a vital part of Ecover’s philosophy, but they understand long distance travel is sometimes necessary and that everyone deserves a guilt-free vacation now and then. So they recommend ecological travel options such as camping and traveling light.

I learned their factories are crowned with a green roof where plant vegetation grows creating a temperature regulating and noise-dampening insulator throughout the year. Awesome!

I learned to: “Bring your own firewood…using timber from around your camp site may be eco-friendly, but it actually threatens the forest’s future. When fallen trees and branches decompose, they return nutrients to the soil, feeding the surrounding trees and vegetation.”
I never knew that!
