Little Critter's The Night Before Christmas Review & Giveaway...

A&W LOVE the Little Critter books by Mercer Mayer.  I love them too and I remember them from being young myself.  Ahh....nostalgia!  I was very excited to get my hands on Little Critter's The Night Before Christmas in time for the holiday season (just released October 5th).

Little Critter's The Night Before Christmas is simply a retelling of the classic children's poem.  A few words are changed (a creature is now a critter and Santa replaces St. Nick) but Mercer Mayer stayed pretty true to the original poem.  I really enjoyed reading this familiar story to A&W and they were really into it. What I think they loved the best was the familiar face of that sweet, sometimes naughty Little Critter peppered throughout the book.   The illustrations were great...all the fun you have come to expect from Mercer Mayer.  I thought she did a particularly great job capturing Little Critter's excitement and awe over seeing Santa (adorable!).

This hardcover book also includes a CD with a narration of the book.  I am planning on keeping this in the car to keep the boys awake on the way to pre-school!!

What a great way to introduce your children to a classic poem!  Little Critter's The Night Before Christmas by Mercer Mayer is a great read and guaranteed to get your children in the holiday spirit (in case you needed any help with that!).
