Senior editor at the online literary magazine The Nervous Breakdown and author of Totally Killer, author Greg Olear brings us a not-so-typical day in the life of stay-at-home dad Josh Lansky, juggling myriad fatherly responsibilities while dealing with the maddening realization that his away-on-business wife just might be having an affair. Fathermucker is a sweet, heartrending, often hilarious look at family life from the dad’s perspective that Nick Hornby fans will most certainly respond to. As Jessica Anne Blau, author of Drinking Closer to Home and The Summer of Naked Swim Parties so insightfully points out, “Only a writer with the verve, daring, and great talent of Greg Olear could pull off a novel that deals with sippy cups, masturbation, autism spectrum disorder, affairs, and play-dates all at once.”
Book Description
This book is just so witty. It touches upon what so many moms and, obviously, dads feel like sometimes...exhausted slaves to our sweet little darlings. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have it any other way but isn't it nice to hear someone else dish about the tough stuff and, even better, the funny stuff about parenting?? Greg Olear does this all in a way that will have you laughing out loud and eagerly turning the page to find out what happens next in this day of all days for Josh Lansky! Pick up this read today on Amazon...

The name really caught me, but it sounds really funny. I would love to read it.
I need a book that I can relate with, I've been pikcing up books left and right and not getting half-way through before I quit them. The books I used to read befre I had kids, just aren't cutting it lately, I think need something that speaks to the mom of me more lately, [if that makes any sense at all]… and one that can make me laugh, that'd be a bonus!
I really want to read it not only because of the strange title but by the way you describe it. It got me interested and makes me want more.

Well, when you mentioned Max and Ruby, I knew I just had to read this book! I need a little light reading for those times when I'm about to lose it and this book sounds like it's coming from someone who knows exactly where my mental state of mind might be!
I think my husband could identify with this (not the affair part, but the staying at home part).
