I’ve often wondered about the clinical protection series,
wondered if it really was worth the extra money. I was happy to try out this sample. The clinical protection antiperspirant did
keep me a little drier than regular formulas on a busy hot day. This particular type, the clear tone was
supposed to help remove dark spots in the underarm area. The product description from Dove’s website

Personally, I have never experienced dark areas in my
underarm but I did notice that this product moisturized well and left my
underarms very soft. The fragrance was
not something I would have picked myself and leaned toward the floral side. It was too strong for my taste and throughout
the day I felt like all I could smell was the anti-perspirant. Overall I was happy with the way it kept me
dry, the fragrance (although strong) lasted all day and I was left with soft
underarms.
Dove also sent the regular formula of Dove Clear tone
skin renew anti-perspirant/deodorant for me to try. This product had the same strong floral smell
that was too overpowering but seemed to work well as an everyday
anti-perspirant/deodorant. I’m not sure
it would stand up to a really hot day or provide enough protection for a busy,
active day but worked well when I used it.
It has the same moisturizing components with calendula and sunflower
seed extracts as the clinical protection and I was impressed with the overall
feel of my underarm area after use.
I have actually purchased the Dove Clinical myself and it has been a bit hit with me. I wouldn't say I am a super active gal (working on that too readers!) but I do A LOT of running around after the kiddos and all over town. This deodorant kept me very dry and, while the scent was noticeable to me (but not in a bad way) I am not sure anyone else could really notice it.
