This book really hit home for me because I am a stay-at-home mom. It is actually the job I have always wanted and I feel lucky (most of the time!!) to have it. I do also admit that it is far more challenging than I had ever imagined. The upside is that it is also much more rewarding than I thought possible. I enjoyed all the different sections of the book which dealt with subjects such as deciding to stay home, adjusting to the decision and looking back at the gift of being home. I have been reading the stories in bits and spurts when I need a boost or a special reminder that while the job is hard it is a true treasure. I am still choked up over the beautifully poignant tale "Memories and Tears" which tells the story of the "end of an era" when one takes down the crib for the very last time. That time is coming for me in a couple of months so I could really relate. So much joy felt looking through those crib bars over the years...sigh! As always, the Chicken Soup books are relatable and are the soothing balm you need to help you get through. Pick up a copy of this one for yourself or the mom in your life today....

I have two sisters who are stay at home moms. Both have issues because one sister is a cancer survivor and had a 9 yr old daughter who likes to keep busy and the other sister has 4 children and her youngest had a health issue with special needs.
This is awesome! I love chicken soup for the soul books and I think this one would be a fantastic one to own.
