Moo Kitty Finds a Home by Valerie Lee Veltre...R&G!

There is an animal shelter not too far from our home.  Every few weeks the kids and I stop in (sometimes with treats or food to donate) for visits with the residents.  This is one of my children's most favorite activities. While they love all the different animals there, they are especially fond of the cats.  Our local shelter has a special room for lap cats which is filled with comfy chairs and rockers where you can pat and hold the cats that stay there.  My kids could stay there for hours.  When I was offered the chance to review a book called Moo Kitty Finds a Home by Valerie Lee Veltre I jumped at the chance.  This book is all about a cat who finds herself in a shelter so I knew it would hit close to home for us.  Here is the scoop...

Follow Moo Kitty in his big adventure to find a new home! After leaving his rose garden, he meets new human and kitty friends who help him keep the faith that he’ll soon find a new forever home. Love, compassion and friendship are just some of the life lessons that Moo Kitty learns on his journey

This book was so touching that it actually brought me to tears during several different parts.  Moo Kitty's journey begins when his beloved human passes away and he finds himself on the street.  With the help of  some helpful guardian angel kitties he finds the strength to believe he will be not only saved but loved too.  Moo Kitty finds himself saved from the street by a kind soul he brings him to a shelter where he meets new cat friends and watches and waits while some are adopted and he is not.  Once again Moo Kitty must believe he too will find love.  Thankfully this book has happy ending where Moo finds his own forever home where he is comfortable, safe and loved.

As you all know, I love a good children's book.  What makes Moo Kitty even better is that it is a fantastic book for children that delivers an important message about the creatures around us.  It encourages us to look after other creatures and do our part to ensure they are cared for and loved.  At the end of the story there is a section on adopting pets and how to care for them.  This book is a gem and one that I gladly read over and over to my own children and it is one I think you should read to yours as well.  Please order your copy today by clicking the Moo Kitty website HERE.

I also wanted to add that the last time we visited our local shelter we were introduced to a black and white cat named Moo!  I am hopeful that when we go back next he will be gone and settled in at his forever home.

I am delighted to tell you that one lucky RBM reader will win a copy of Moo Kitty Finds a Home.  Thanks so much to the sponsor and here is how to enter... a Rafflecopter giveaway

We have a strange little dog named Caesar. He can walk around on his hind legs for as long as he wants. He barks at cartoon dogs. He sits and stares at you. If he wants to go out, instead of going to the door or barking or whining, he'll sit in the middle of the room and wipe his nose and other legs with his paws kinda like a third base coach putting on the hit and run. But we love the little freak.

I have a hedgehog named Tex. He is the sweetest thing! He was seized from a pet store in Texas with over 600 other hedgehogs in horrible conditions. All the hedgehogs were kept together in a huge feed bin with no water or food. They were fighting each other so Tex has tiny ears because they were chewed off by others. The HWS's rescue train brought him from Texas to OR were I adopted him : ) I am so glad I could give him a loving and caring home!
