Secret Agent 23 Skidoo: Make Believers....R&G!

The kids and I love to rock out in the car.  Or the playroom.  Or the kitchen.  Anywhere actually.  All we need are some good tunes and we can groove out and it is generally a surefire way to get everyone smiling.  Something that has us smiling lately?  The latest CD from Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, Make Believers!  This fun CD is a toe tapping party and the kids and I have it in our coveted number one spot in the car CD player!  Have you heard of Secret Agent 23 Skidoo?  If not, let me share the scoop with you....

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, which Time Out New York Kids magazine just named one of America's top 10 Best Bands for Kids, has just released Make Believers. The new disc, which features 39 guest artists including 10 year old MC Fireworks, is available now from Underground Playground Records, iTunes, and many other retailers.
Secret Agent 23 Skidoo turns the typical kiddie story-song on its head by employing a level of musical and lyrical complexity rarely seen in the family genre. Make Believers opens with an energetic adaptation of the classic Jack in the Beanstalk fairytale, “Magic Beans,” in which young Jack ignores the negativity around him to forge ahead with his dreams. Other original songs offer endless encouragement for kids to use their innate intelligence (“Brainstorm”), bravery (“Hi-5 for the High Dive” and “Hot Sauce”), and imagination (“Make the Future”).

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo’s albums have previously garnered acclaim in Time, People, USA Today, and from Stefan Shepherd on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” His original track “Cooperate” is featured on the 2012 Grammy award-winning children’s album All About Bullies… Big and Small. 23 Skidoo has rocked sets at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits,The Winnipeg Folk Festival, Irving Plaza, Legoland and The Smithsonian Institution. More summer and fall performances will be announced soon.

This CD is full of fun music.  We had been familiar with Secret Agent 23 Skidoo because we'd been introduced to them on the Sirius Radio station Kid's Place Live.  Space Cadet is a HUGE favorite for us and gets us all singing along.  When we heard all the other songs on Make Believers we were hooked.  All of us.  This is NOT your typical sugary kid's music.  It is rap music, salsa music, hip hop and even a little punk centered around positive and FUN messages for children.  Nightmares Disappear is a crowd favorite, telling about a child finding comfort in her parents bed after a bad dream and Hot Sauce is a salsa like groove that the RBM clan LOVES to dance to.  This CD is just chock full of positive messages in the lyrics without being preachy and while still being fun and funky.  This CD is truly one of those lovely gems that the WHOLE family can enjoy.  Oh happy day!  Pick up your copy today on Amazon (your kids and your ears will thank you!)...

I am excited to tell you that one lucky RBM reader will win their own copy of Secret Agent 23 Skidoo:  Make Believers!  Thanks so much to the sponsor and here is how to enter... a Rafflecopter giveaway
