Technigirl...Review & Give Away!

I love clothes and so does Little R.  It is fun to have a little girl.  There are lots of adorable choices out there.  One thing that bothers me about girls clothes are the seemingly limitless choices of glittery bedazzled items that promote stereotypes.  You know what I mean....shirts that shout "I love Daddy's Credit Card" in rhinestones or something like it.  Ugh...it really bothers me.  Don't get me wrong....Little R and I both love a little (and sometimes a lot!) of sparkle but I want Little R to know she is more than a "silly girly girl".  When I had the opportunity to do a review of Technigirl I was super excited ....this is a company who "got" what I wished for in clothing for my little girl.  Here is the scoop on the company and how it began...

How Technigirl Began - Words from Technigirl Owner Melissa Montanez:

I’m a mom of a little girl, and I’m also an electrical engineer and entrepreneur. I work full-time as an engineer in the semiconductor industry (in addition to running my business), so I’ve spent much of the last 12 years hanging around electronics and microchips, and this inspires a lot of my designs. I think it is one of the things that makes me unique and it makes my designs stand out. In addition, I’m definitely a girl’s girl who likes to wear dresses and heels, so I like to inject a bit of that into my girls’ clothes as well.
I started Technigirl because as a mom of a little girl, I got super annoyed at all the girls’ shirts with dumb sayings like “Allergic to Algebra”, “Most likely to spend Daddy’s money” etc. I also wondered why it was so hard to find girls shirts with cool stuff on them like robots and spaceships. So I decided to make shirts that were more empowering (i.e. one of my shirts says “Future rocket scientist” on it), and that had the cool designs I was looking for.
As a female engineer, I know how lonely it can be as a woman in a technical field. I’d like to help today’s young girls to become the smart, intelligent women I know they can be. In the near future I am also planning to help fundraise for organizations such as Girlstart that encourage girls to go into science, math, engineering, and technology.

I think Melissa Montanez and I must be kindred spirits!  Her designs are exactly what I want Little R to wear!  Check out this super cute onesie that I think every baby girl should have....
Adorable, right!?  I chose this "Future Rocket Scientist" shirt for Little R....

She loves it!  It is a big favorite and she pretty much grabs it as soon as it comes out of the washer.    I love the design AND the  message.  It is cute and respectful and empowering!  Thanks. Technigirl!  Be sure to visit www.technigirl.com and order something for every girl in your life....they deserve it!

I am so pleased to tell you that one lucky RBM reader will win a clothing item of choice from Technigirl.  Thanks so much to the sponsor and here is how to enter....

My daughter is too old for it now, but I still love the Technigirl Future Doctor Glitter Onesie. I'd love to see a t-shirt like that in a bigger size.
