Carly's Gift by Georgia Bockoven....Review and Giveaway!

Over the weekend I finished an absolutely fabulous book, Carly's Gift by Georgia Bockoven. In fact I am still thinking about it and, truth be told, I am still a bit teary eyed over it! Here are the details...
Book Description
From the author of Things Remembered and The Year Everything Changed comes a moving novel about love that lasts forever
What's in the past is over and done with . . . or is it?
Sixteen years ago Carly Hargrove made a decision that would irrevocably alter her life. With little comprehension of the life-long consequences of her actions, she trades her own future happiness to protect the man she's loved since kindergarten, David Montgomery.
With an ocean separating them, Carly builds a life for herself without David. She's the mother of three, lives in a beautiful house, and is married to a man who comes home every night—even if most of those nights he drinks too much. What more could she want?
Her answer arrives on a cold fall day when David shows up at her door. In town for his father's funeral, he has come to see Carly one last time, hoping to rid himself of the anger that still consumes him.
Instead, he is drawn into a web of secrets that rekindles the fierce need he once felt to protect Carly. He becomes caught up in her life in a way he never could have imagined—a way that will bind him to her forever.

Oh boy.  This book was heart wrenching.  It is a tale of love and sacrifice and I would be blown away if it didn't have you crying at some point in the pages.   The author, Georgia Bockoven, does a masterful job of creating characters you will identify with and come to care about.  I absolutely could NOT put this book down.  I wanted to understand the decisions Carly made and see where her choices would  ultimately lead her.  This is a book that will stay with you and one that you will want your friends to read so you can talk about it (book club anyone??).  Pick up your copy today on Amazon (when you have finished reading it, let me know so we can talk about it some more!!)... I am so happy to tell you that the publisher is giving one lucky RBM reader a copy of Carly's Gift! Thanks to the sponsor and good luck! I like to read before I go to bed. It's the best time since there are no distractions. ;)

I read while trying to get the kids to sleep. Sometimes I read them the book that I am reading which is okay if it is a young adult read like Treasure Island.
