Scholastic Storybook Treasures...Review & Give Away!
For the past year or so, I have become a huge fan of Scholastic Storybook Treasure DVD's. These DVD's take popular children's books and make them come to life onscreen in a way that stays 100% true to the book (a million thank you's for this Scholastic!). These DVD's are ones that you can feel good about sharing with your children and ones you can enjoy watching with them. We have several in our collection already and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the two latest: Children Make Terrible Pets & Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! Both of these DVD's saved my sanity on a 3 1/2 hour road trip to Flagstaff Lake this past weekend (more on that later!).
Here is the scoop on these two wonderful DVD's put out by Scholastic and New Kideo...

As I mentioned, we took these two DVD collections with us on a very long drive and I am SO glad we did. My children do not love to sit still and being in the car for such a long stretch can be AWFUL. However, these two DVD's kept everyone engaged and giggling....even when we watched them twice in a row!! Some of the stories were familiar to our family like the title stories of each and Knuffle Bunny but it was so much fun for my children to see them come to life. Additionally, with the read along feature I felt it was a nice teaching tool for my early readers!
A few of the stories included on the DVD's were new to us but quickly become beloved especially the charming Elizabeti's Doll. This one would make the ideal story for a child with a new sibling or one on the way. It is simply wonderful (as were all the stories on the DVD's quite frankly!)
I can't say enough about the entire Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD's. These are absolute favorites of our and Children Make Terrible Pets and Don't Let the Pigeon Stay up Late are fantastic additions to this great series. If you are looking for something special or a thoughtful gift a Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD is the way to go!
