There's A Map on My Lap (App)...Review & Give Away!

Do you have tablet or iphone?  We use our iPad and iphone for lots of things but I really enjoy sharing educational opportunities with the kids on screens.  We recently tested out a super fun app featuring The Cat in the Hat (we love him!)...There's A Map on My Lap.  Here is the scoop...

Learn the many uses of different types of maps, including city, state, world, topographic, temperature, terrain and more. Find out about various map formats (flat, globe, atlas, puzzle) and tools used to read them (symbols, scales, grids, compasses). Information cards from Thing 1 and Thing 2 and instant glossary words in bold provide fun facts throughout the story.

"Peel the skin off an orange
and lay it out flat.
A flat map of the earth
will look something like that."

The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library is a nonfiction series that introduces youngsters to basic science concepts. The titles explore a range of subjects, including dinosaurs, pets, marine life and nature subjects such as trees and outer space. Written in rhyme, these stories feature the classic characters from The Cat in the Hat book — The Cat, Sally, Dick, Thing One and Thing Two, and even the fish! Recommended ages: 5 - 10

My twin boys (almost 7) really enjoyed this app.  They have recently become really interested in where live and its' relation to everything else.  This app made talking about this fun, educational and interactive for us.  The Cat in the Hat is the perfect balance of silly and educational in this app and it was a huge hit with our family.  I would highly recommend it!  For more information and to purchase click HERE.

I am so pleased to tell you that Oceanhouse Media is giving one lucky RBM reader a code to download this app for FREE!  Hooray!  Thanks to the sponsor and, to enter, use the Rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!
