Mind Your Monsters by Catherine Bailey....Review!

My daughter and I have been enjoying an adorable book over the past couple of weeks....Mind Your Monsters by Catherine Bailey.  This book is full of charmingly naughty monsters and the quest of one town to rid themselves of their pesky presence.  Here is the scoop...

Wally’s town is terrorized by vampires, zombies, werewolves, and the like, until finally he discovers the magic word—please!—to make them stop. Vidal’s bright, colorful illustrations has each monster baring a cheerful, toothy grin as they make a giant mess of the small town they’ve turned into their playground. Learning good manners has never been as monstrously fun!

I couldn't resist sharing this photo of my own "little monster"....

Our Thoughts:  While I am happy to say that my "little monster" has better manners than those described in this book we could definitely relate and laugh together about the importance of manners.  Little R thought is was hilarious how the monsters were taking over the town with their silly (not scary!) ways.  It is pretty funny to see big blob monsters atop cars and giant purple monsters looting candy from a truck.  Good manners?  Nope!  Funny?  You bet!

The teaching part of the story comes when Wally pleads with the monsters to "please stop breaking all of our stuff".  The reply?   "Ok!".  The book goes to show that even silly and naughty monsters can appreciate the power of "please".  This book is a big hit in our home and is an adorable way to talk manners with your own little monsters.  Pick up your copy today on Amazon....
