I have a sweet book to share with you today...Please Please the Bees by Gerald Kelley. This story is perfect to share with your little one this spring. My daughter and I have been greatly enjoying it and we are planning on sharing with the honey store down the street later this week. Here is the scoop....
Our Thoughts: What a cute story and important story! Benedict is a regular bear who expects things to be "just so". He goes about his day assuming his big honey needs will always be met because...why wouldn't they?! The honey has always been there in more than ample supply so why should that change now? When the bees go on strike because they are tired of all the "take, take, take" Benedict is perplexed. What should he do?? Following him research and work on his garden to please the bees is adorable and fun and is a lovely message about taking care of those who take care of you. It is a sweet story with a great message. I also want to mention that the illustrations are outstanding. Benedict is portrayed as an ambling bear wit kind eyes but the bees are my favorite with their picket signs and purpose! This book is a delightful book for spring!
