Karin Slaughter: The Last Widow...Review & Giveaway

You all well know by now that I am an avid reader.  I love to cozy up with a good book and get lost in the pages.  I just finished up a book by a favorite author of mine, Karin Slaughter and I am excited to share it with you today.  I highly suggest you add "The Last Widow" to your reading list ASAP! Here is the scoop...

New York Times bestselling author Karin Slaughter brings back Will Trent and Sara Linton in this superb and timely thriller full of devious twists, disturbing secrets, and shocking surprises you won’t see coming
A mysterious kidnapping
On a hot summer night, a scientist from the Centers for Disease Control is grabbed by unknown assailants in a shopping center parking lot. The authorities are desperate to save the doctor who’s been vanished into thin air.
A devastating explosion
One month later, the serenity of a sunny Sunday afternoon is shattered by the boom of a ground-shaking blast—followed by another second later. One of Atlanta’s busiest and most important neighborhoods has been bombed—the location of Emory University, two major hospitals, the FBI headquarters, and the CDC.
A diabolical enemy
Medical examiner Sara Linton and her partner Will Trent, an investigator with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, rush to the scene—and into the heart of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to destroy thousands of innocent lives. When the assailants abduct Sara, Will goes undercover to save her and prevent a massacre—putting his own life on the line for the woman and the country he loves.

My Thoughts:  As I mentioned above, I was already a Karin Slaughter fan so I already figured her style and genre would be a hit with me and she didn't disappoint.  This book is the 9th in the series featuring Will Trenton and Dr Sara Linton and it is 100% action-packed.  You are moving through time from the perspective of the two main characters as they navigate this crisis.  The characters at the center of this disaster are completely unstable with beliefs that are horrific.  You can tell Slaughter researched well the groups of white supremacist groups and the ways they can prey on young people with no role models or support.  The book is very intense in many parts and is not for the faint of heart but I feel Slaughter couldn't have told the story in such believable death if she shied away from the truth.  Additionally, I enjoy watching the relationship between Will and Sara grow throughout the series.  I am already itching for book 10!!
